Introduction

Dr. Bhattacharya is one of the best Cardiac Surgeon in Mumbai. Dr. Bhattacharya served as a full time Professor of Cardio thoracic surgery at Sheth G.S. Medical College & K.E.M. Hospital and evinced keen interest in teaching for over 10 years before entering into the practice world in 1983. Dr. Bhattacharya specialized and attained M.Ch. (Cardio-Thoracic Surgery) under renowned Cardiac Surgeon and world pioneer Dr. Dudley Johnson. Dr. Bhattacharya joined Jaslok Hospital and then Breach Candy Hospital and then gradually was invited to join most of the major hospitals in Mumbai. Apart from being an accomplished Cardiac Surgeon, Dr. Bhattacharya has invented, designed and patented a few surgical instruments, the most important ones being Atrial Retractor for Mitral Valve Replacement and Internal Mammary Artery Retractor for taking down bilateral Internal Mammary Arteries. Dr. Bhattacharyya has received many accolades and numerous awards in his illustrious career and has been recognized globally for his contribution and work in cardiac surgery. He has also presented papers in many National and International conferences and has authored many articles in National & International journals.

Dr. Bhattacharya was the most influential person in the DNA newspaper in the years 2007 & 2008.
