Dr. S.R Handa is a very experienced, dynamic and astute Interventional Cardiologist. After MBBS and MD (Medicine), he did one and half year Fellowship in Cardiology course at Bombay hospital and Institute of Medical Sciences, Bombay. He joined Jaslok Hospital in 1986 in Department of Cardiology as a Clinical Assistant and did his DNB Cardiology from here. He was the first candidate to pass DNB Cardiology from Jaslok Hospital. He was appointed as a Hon.Interventional Cardiologist at Jaslok Hospital in 1990. Dr. Handa is actively involved in Teaching and has performed numerous live demonstrations which were shown from Jaslok to various places in India as well as in Singapore and London. He has done live complex cases for August Interventional Cardiologists in Belgrade, Singapore and Bangkok with Dr. A.B. Mehta. He has done special course in laser for myocardium revascularisation (PTMR) from Cleveland and complex angioplasties from Paris. He has performed more than 25,000 Coronary Angiograpies and more than 15,000 Coronary Angioplasties as primary / first assistant.

Dr Handa has been associated with Jaslok Hospital since 1990. He has a vast experience in Coronary Angioplasties and is expert in doing complex cases with IABP Support and various difficult subsets involving Acute myocardial infarction (PAMI), Thrombus containing lesions and CTO.
