Experience

Dr. Gharat has completed his graduation (MBBS) and post graduation (MD) in Medicine from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College (Sion). He later enrolled for the DNB program in Gastroenterology at TATA Memorial Hospital where he received the privilege to work under distinguished teachers such as Dr. Mohandas K Mallath, one of the prominent names associated with gastroenterology in India. During his post graduate training in gastroenterology, Dr. Gharat managed several cases of GI malignancies and also executed chemotherapies for the same. Furthermore, Dr. Gharat independently handled various diagnostic and therapeutic UGI endoscopies, diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopies, side viewing endoscopies and ERCP procedures. Dr. Gharat has imparted medical education to graduates, post graduates and advanced training for fellows in DM Gastroenterology. As an Associate Professor in the Department of Gastroenterology at BYL Nair Hospital, Dr. Gharat contributed greatly towards high quality and ethical clinical work, academics and relevant research pursuits benefiting several aspiring gastroenterologists. Dr. Gharat has played the part of co-investigator in various clinical trials conducted at Nair Hospital.
