An Honorary Pediatric Surgeon in Jaslok Hospital, Dr Jyotsna Kirtane has over 4 decades of rich professional experience in her field. Dr Jyotsna has published several papers both in National and International journals. In addition to her achievements, she has received a prize from DMER, Mumbai for conducting research on "Incidence of respiratory affections in children with Gastro-esophageal Reflux Disease". Dr Jyotsna has treated several infants and children in India and gives every patient the best medical care.

Experience

Worked at Sir J.J.Group of Hospitals & Grant Medical College from 1977 to 2005, almost 28 years, first as Associate Professor and later as Professor and Head of the Department. Also worked at Wadia Children’s Hiospital as Professor & Head of the dept. from 2006 to 2007. She has special expertise in Disorders of Sexual Development i.e. children born with ambiguous genitalia. She runs a BLADDER CLINIC for children who have urinary incontinence, children who leak urine.

Awards and Recognitions

Dr Jyotsna was awarded the British Commonwealth Fellowship, and worked in London at the Hospital for Sick Children Great Ormond Street for 1 year. She established the first of its kind laboratory for 24 hours pH probe and anorectal manometry for children at J.J.Hospital.
