Diagnostic laparoscopic gynecologic procedures are done with a thin tube with a light and camera on one end, known as a laparoscope. In this procedure, the laparoscope is inserted into the lower abdomen (belly) or pelvis (area below the abdomen) to diagnose any disorders in the female reproductive organs.
