Esophageal cancer occurs due to uncontrolled growth of the esophageal tissues. Esophagus is the food pipe, i.e. the muscular thin tube running from the throat to the stomach. Symptoms are difficulty in swallowing, pain in throat, vomiting, coughing up blood, weightloss,etc. There are various treatment options like- Surgery, Chemotherapy, Radiation Therapy, Targeted therapy, etc. Treatment depends upon the stage of cancer, type and overall health of the patient.
