He went overseas for fellowships at prestigious Cardiac Centers like Dunedin Hospital and Green Lane Hospital, Auckland, New Zealand, St. Vincents Hospital, Sydney, Australia, Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia and was staff specialist at Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney, Australia. He subsequently joined university of Birmingham, Alabama USA as special Cardio Vascular fellow. In 1996 he joined Batra Hospital and Medical Research Institute New Delhi as Chief Surgeon before joining Fortis Healthcare. He is among the pioneers of Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery for Complex Congenital Heart Defects program in India and initiated the first Coronary Bypass at PGIMER and SGPGI, Lucknow.
