Dr K J Reddy did Post Graduation in Orthopaedics in one of the premier institutes of India, PGI, Chandigarh.Then Dr K J Reddy went to UK and spent about 14 Years. After doing FRCS General, Dr K J Reddy got into specialist Orthopaedic training in Royal London and Saint Bartholomew Hospitals , London and completed his FRCS in Orthopaedics From four Royal Colleges. Dr K J Reddy also did advanced training in joint replacement surgery. Dr K J Reddy was among the few from India to be complete FRCS Orth and to be appointed as chief of the unit for joint replacement surgery in Basildon & Thurrock NHS Hospitals. Dr K J Reddy joined Apollo Hospitals Group in Hyderabad in 2003 since then Dr K J Reddy has done extensive work in joint replacement surgery. Dr K J Reddy was invited to give guest lectures in India and abroad . Dr K J Reddy did live surgeries in many conferences. Dr K J Reddy has got passion for teaching and trained many surgeons. Dr K J Reddy Completed his MS & DNB in the Year 1990 from PGI, Cahndigarh, followed by FRCS (Edinburg), FRCS (Glasgow) in the year 1994. Completed his FRCS (Ortho) in 1998. Dr K J Reddy has completed his CCST in 1999 and joined as Consultant in Basildon & Thurrock Hospitals, as head of Joint Replacement Unit.(He was among the first few Asians to be appointed as head). Dr K J Reddy has received intensive training in Joint Replacement Surgery-Total Hip & Total knee replacements, lower limb, Sports Medicine & Arthroscopy in various Hospitasl including St.Barts, Royal London Hospital, Norwich Hospitals etc. Dr K J Reddy specializes in Knee , Sports Medicine & Joint Replacement Surgery. Dr K J Reddy won many awards as follows: Micheal Bastow from Notingham. Best Audit prize from Cambridge, Best Operating technique from Black Notley Hospital. An orthopedic doctor, also known as an orthopedist, is a doctor of osteopathy (DO) or Doctor of Medicine (MD) who specializes in the musculoskeletal system that comprises of bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles, and nerves. Many orthopedists specialize in certain areas of the body, such as hand and wrist, foot and ankle, back, or neck and spine. Additionally, orthopedic doctors may focus on a specific field of orthopedics, like sports medicine, pediatrics, and trauma.
An orthopedic surgeon is specialized in the musculoskeletal system and is a doctor who corrects congenital or functional abnormalities of the bones with surgery, bracing, and casting.
Board-certified orthopedic surgeons have successfully completed a minimum of thirteen years of formal education. They must finish four years of study in a college or university and get an undergraduate degree. The undergraduate degree must be followed by the four years of study in a school of medicine. After which, they should complete five years of Orthopedic Residency at a major medical institution. They can later choose to become a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon by completing one year of specialized education in an accredited fellowship program.
Orthopedic injuries include any injury to the musculoskeletal system. Often, these injuries relating to the bones and joints are a result of an accident or trauma to the body. Muscles and joint pain, bone pain that started after an injury or accident, a torn or ruptured tendon, instability or dislocation, a progressing hip or knee pain, arthritis in your hip, knee, or elbow, neck or back pain, radiating arm or leg pain, joint pain in many joints across your body.
