Dr Kumud Mehta started sub speciality of Paediatric Nephrology at Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for children Mumbai in 1976. The first in western India so that children of all ages suffering from acute and chronic kidney diseases could be treated systematically and properly irrespective of socio-economic status.
