In the rainy season, it is very important to take care of our skin because during monsoons the risk of infection increases by ten times. Skin related problems like rash, boils and pimples start in this season. Let us know more about the different skin care tips during monsoon to maintain a healthy skin.

  • For oily skin: People with oily skin often get worried about their skin during the rainy season. If the skin is oily, skin problems increase, so special care should be taken. Oily skin must be scrubbed twice a week. Waterproof makeup should be used and do not use gel sunscreen on oily skin to keep the skin healthy. Avoid using sunscreen lotions on the skin.

  • For sensitive skin: This type of skin is neither dry nor oily. The area around the nose, chin and forehead are often oily and the other portions are dry. In such a situation it becomes very difficult to take proper care. If your skin is dry, use moisturizer regularly. Do not scrub the skin.

Home remedies for a healthy skin: 

Following are the home remedies for skin care in the rainy season. 

  • To keep the skin healthy use a pack of oatmeal, tomatoes and peppermint oil. This makes the skin glowing and acne free. (Read about- What causes pimples)
  • Take equal amounts of methane mitti, sandalwood powder and gram flour, make a paste by adding water and apply on the face. Wash after drying. 
  • During the rainy season, wash the face with lukewarm water to remove excess oil.
  • In the monsoon face pack, mix egg yolk, honey, yogurt with oatmeal. You can use rose water or orange juice instead of egg yolk. Apply this pack twice a day. 
  • Mix a few drops of tea tree oil and lemon juice in lukewarm water. Soak your feet in this water. It keeps the skin of feet healthy.
