Congenital heart diseases are problems associated with heart that are present since birth that range from simple defects with no complications to complex defects with severe to life-threatening complications which require surgical intervention.
The treatment involves surgical intervention which may range from minimally invasive surgery to open heart surgery. These procedures are done by a specialist and will require significant time for recovery.
Heart Transplant may be needed if the defect is serious and cannot be corrected by a surgery. Medications may be required if the defects are mild or can't be corrected by a surgery.
